Universal Search is Buzzr’s single search bar — surfaces players, teams, squads, news articles, and fans across every league and every surface.
  • Players — by name, tap straight into a player profile with team + position metadata
  • Teams — every team in every covered league
  • Leagues — jump straight to a league dashboard or schedule
  • News articles — recent articles across every covered league
  • Squads — public squads searchable by name or vibe
  • Fans — search by username or #TAG (e.g. arnav#A1B2)

How to use it

Tap the search pill in the header. The pill is visible on every main tab. The bell icon is to the right; the profile avatar is the rightmost. Type any query — results group by category and update as you type.

Speed

Search uses pg_trgm GIN indexes on profiles.username and user_tag for sub-100ms username lookups. Player and team queries hit ESPN-resolved fixtures so the tap-target opens the right entity instantly.

My Stuff coverage

Every search surface (players, squads, news) has a “My Stuff” filter that scopes results to entities you follow, are a member of, or have rated.

Tap behavior

Tapping a result navigates straight to the entity:
  • Player → Player detail with stat line, recent games, news
  • Team → Team page with roster, schedule, dashboard pages
  • News → Article reader with discussion thread
  • Squad → Squad page with bracket leaderboard, members, chat
  • Fan → Profile with ratings, takes, predictions
You can also long-press a result to share or save it.
